That’s the quote that was on my yoga instructor’s tank top last night. Her name is Lynda.
Sure, I go to Lynda to become more flexible and feel less stressed. I go to her to slow my heart rate, to think more clearly, and to get a better night’s sleep. I even go to her because I want to be a compassionate person.
But the real reason I practice with Lynda is because, after all, “If your thighs touch then you’re one step closer to being a mermaid.” Said differently, “People like us don’t get caught up in superficial things.”
You probably didn’t buy Apple’s Macbook because the processor is that much better than any other laptop. You don’t shop at Lululemon because you’ve done a thorough analysis of the fiber content of their clothes. You buy these products for altogether unconscious reasons: “People like us do things like this.”
Lynda just announced a special offer for students at Fredonia: $199 for unlimited classes during the upcoming fall semester. A complete bodily education for 1/5 the cost of a normal college class.
